Requirements

This extension is built for Joomla! 3. Please see their minimum technical requirements.

Installation

Once you have downloaded the Qlue Weather package, you can then install this on your site. To begin, login to the administrator section of your website (http://yoursite.com/administrator) and go to the Joomla installer (Extensions -> Manage -> Install).

On the Joomla! install page, drag & drop or browse for the Qlue Weather package file. When the package has finished uploading, you will see a successful install message. If there are any errors installing, please take a look at our FAQs or contact us.

Updating

You can download the latest version of our Weather extension from the Weather Extension page. You can install this extention over the top of existing Weather installations to apply the update.

Uninstalling

To uninstall the Qlue Weatherextension, go to Extensions -> Manage -> Manage. Search for the Qlue Weather extension and uninstall the "Qlue Weather- Module".

Using the Weather Module

Getting Started

Once Qlue Weather is installed you can find the module in Extensions->modules, then search for Weather. One you have the module settings open, the first step is to get an API key for openweatherapi. Navigate to https://openweathermap.org/price and press the "Get API Key" button, under free. You will then be able to sign up. Once you have signed up and logged in navigate to https://home.openweathermap.org/api_keys copy the key, then paste it in the module, in the API Key field.

The next step is to enter a location. Type in the name of the city or town in the city field, and then select the country from the drop-down. If an invalid location is entered there will be a red warning on the website where the module should be displayed.

In order for the module to display you should make sure the a Position has been selected on the right hand side, the module has been set to published, also on the right hand side, and you have selected pages in the Menu Assignment tab.

Configuration

Our modules are equipped with conditional fields meaning you only see the fields relevant to the options you have selected. So don't worry if you cant see some of the options listed bellow.

The Style tab contains most of the settings for customising the display of the module. Colours are selected with a colour picker or entered in the #ffffff format. Dimensions and sizes are entered in px or % (i.e. 12px, 10%). px is short for pixels, this defines a static size. % is percentage which defines a dynamic, relative, size.

You can customise the different data points that are displayed in the data tab. Please note not all data points are available for every location.

Module

API Key	Openweathermap API key.
City	Enter the name of the city or town that you would like to get the weather for.
Country	Enter the name of the country that you would like to get the weather for.
Units	Select the default temperature units to display on the module.
Display Type	Current Weather - Displays The current weather Daily Forecast Slider - Displays a slider with each slide being a different day of the week moving forward. This type has additional options listed below. Daily Historical Slider - Displays a slider containing historic weather information, each slide contains a summary of the weather for that day. This type has additional options listed below.
Days To Load	The number of days of data to load. Maximum of 7 for forecast and a maximum of 5 for historical data.
Slider AutoScroll	Selecting Yes will cause the slider to scroll or rotate on its own. The speed is defined by the Slider Speed field.
Slider Speed	The time in miliseconds between the slider scrolls.
Slider Arrows	Enabling this options displays arrows allowing navigation forwards and backwards though the days.

Data

Weather Display	Option to display weather (sunny, cloudy, etc) a icons, text to hide.
Show Unit Selector	This options displays a unit selector on the front end. It lets users of your website select which units they want to use.
Show Temperature	Option to show the temperature.
Show Graph	Option to display the temperature graph, on current weather only.
Shoe Mix/Max Temperature	Show the min/max temperature for the day.
Show Feels Like	The the feels like temperature.
Show UV	Show UV data.
Show Visibility	Show visibility in meters.
Show Wind	Show wind speed and direction.
Show Humidity	Show humidity as percentage.
Shouw country	Show the selected country.
Show City	Show the city or town the weather is for.
Show Date	Show the date of the weather data.
Show Time	Show the time of thew weather data.

Style

Show Border	This option places a border, with a background and other styling options, around each tweet.
Width	Width of the module. In px or %
Height	Height of the module. In px or %.
Border Radius	Radius of the border. Defines the curve of the corners. In px or %.
Border Colour	The colour of the borders around the module.
Text Colour	The colour of the text in the module
Background Colour	Background colour of the module.
Icon Colour	Colour of the weather icon on the module.
Slider Spacing	The spacing between each slide.
Graph Height	Height of the temperature graph.
Graph Line Colour	Line colour on the temperature Graph.
Graph Fill Colour	Fill colour of the temperature graph.
